Born and raised in new york,

to two Jamaican parents, I lived my early years in The Bronx, before moving to Long Island. As a child, I gravitated towards the visual arts; drawing, coloring, painting, etc. I also had a deep interest in writing and storytelling. I spent much of my free time reading fiction and writing poems, stories, & plays.

Growing up in a household with two languages, English and Jamaican patois, initiated my love for language and linguistics. I studied and am fluent in Spanish. I even spent 9 months studying abroad in Logroño, La Rioja, Spain. I also have a limited knowledge of French. In college, I studied Latin for three years and Japanese very briefly. I hope to be a polyglot by 27.

As a writer/director, my focus is on the coming-of-age and romance genres. I specifically focus on the Black experience from an “outside” perspective, as someone who considers themselves both Black American and Afro-Caribbean. I am heavily influenced by my Jamaican heritage and my experience growing up as a first-generation American.

As a Gen Z filmmaker, I like to blend my interests in pop culture, language, and music into my writings. I hope to establish a canon of work that creates more space in the industry for young people who look like me and come from similar backgrounds.

I am also the founder of the Likkle Global Film Archive, a digital film archive of hundreds of films from across the Black diaspora
